Canadian Political Party Poll Standings

UPDATED APR-29-11

The CBC has posted a great Poll Tracker of all of the daily polls being conducted for our Federal Election.  Great information with nice clean charts - easy to follow.  However, with surveys I'm always curious to know up front what the margin of error and sample size is, and because I'm becoming a lazy web reader and don't want to scroll about, I decided to throw the information into Tableau to be able to interact with it.  The trend lines are interesting, but I wouldn't trust them just yet - we've still got 11 9  7   3 more days of polls to go.  But WOW, look at the NDP go!

Notes from CBC:

* The margin of error for polls is deemed to be this percentage, 19 times out of 20. This chart only includes polls with a margin of error of 3.1 per cent or smaller.
** The Nanos polling, done for CTV and the Globe and Mail, is based on a three-day rolling sample of 400 telephone interviews, for a total of 1,200 over three days.
